In the journey of life there is a constant pattern of holding on. Children need a hand to hold so they can take those first few steps. With the security of a simple hold children find the confidence necessary to progress from crawling to running full speed ahead. Then before you know it you are a teen or young adult and it just isn't cool to hold on to someone's hand. Then before you know it adults are asking to hold your hand for a little assistance maneuvering through the journey of life.
How blessed we are to have the beautiful gift of God's hand to hold on to through every stage, day and moment of our lives. Life is filled with unexpected turns, twists, bumps, valleys, mountains, curves and so much more. At times we feel completely confident we know exactly where we are going and how to get there. Then we are faced with the reality of shaky ground when the report isn't what we expected or we realize things are going as we planned.
I Thessalonians encourages us to hold fast to that which is good. God is the one power in our life we always know will be good for us. We can hold His hand with confidence 24-7-365 knowing He will never leave us or forsake us. So don't worry about the ups, downs, falls and stumbles. They will come. We can hold on to the unchanging hand of God and know He will help us to make this journey of life. May you find His hand gives you the confidence to overcome and strength to be your greatest in Him.
